I have the pleasure in being asked to photograph and record many weddings, and every one is unique and memorable.
However one theme that is common across all of them – is the interaction of the children. Children do not understand (and nor should they) the etiquette or deeper meanings of weddings and often behave the most naturally. They are sweet, endearing, a breath of fresh air and create some amusing moments.
It is not always possible to capture these moments, but I always feel rewarded to get at least a few in each Wedding. I recently photographed a Wedding for a couple that had two small boys (aged nearly 2 and 3).
Here are a few images from the day of those lovely little chaps.
The Bride and Groom chose the words from a well known song …. “I want to grow old with you …” Again very emotional and another couple of lads were to read this together. The younger one clearly affected by the emotion of the words, started to falter during the 2nd verse, his brother took over and hid him without any fuss.
Anyhow back to those two boys …. still enjoying themselves.
… and a cuddle for Dad.
They were even part of cutting the cake:
Here are some of my other favourite children from other Weddings.
These two were asked to hold the veil up and then run … I think this made a more memorable image than the intended final shot!
Sometimes later in the evening it becomes too much.
And when we are young enough … we can do what we want really.
